How to make Ninja Turtle Cupcake Toppers

About a month ago, I woke up in the mood to make Ninja Turtle  Cupcake Toppers.

I didn't make any cupcakes at first to put the toppers on so I gave them to my secretary to put on the cupcakes that she bought for her son's birthday. These are the cupcakes

You will need:

– Green, blue, purple, red and orange fondant;

– a black, edible, marker ( these markers are filled with food colouring and can be bought in a speciality cake supply stores. I was lucky to find Nicoletta Stationery at the local Spar).

Step 1:

Roll out green fondant into small balls (or however big you would like to have the ninja turtle head).

Step 2:

Using a round tool, make an indent in the ball.

Step 3:

Cut out blue, purple, orange and red strips for the face as above. The size of the strips will depend on how big you are making the ninja turtle faces. Place the strips over the indent in the face.

Step 4:

 Using the edible stationary, draw the eyes and the mouth. If you are feeling very adventurous, you can cut out the eyes and mouth in black fondant and paste it on the face.

The Ninja Turtles are ready for your cupcakes. I eventually made some cupcakes about a month later and used the left over Ninja Turtles for these cupcakes.

Needless to say my nephew was thrilled and at least he enjoyed my first attempt at Ninja Turtles.
